Please see an ENT doctor. If you have recurrent infections, maybe there is a structural problem in the inner ear which
has predisposed you to have recurrent infections. Your primary care MD would not be able to make this diagnosis.
Well, the way it panned out included my first trip to the emergency room, an expensive bottle of the wrong ear drops, and a trip to a GP for a referral to an ENT. The ENT put me on the medication I initially requested from the ER doc. The infection was gone within four days.
When I get an ear infection, since I have a long history of these bloody things, if I was anywhere near water before I got the infection, I know what medication I need.
Locacorten Vioform is a medication for fungal ear infections, as well as some bacterial infections. When you have tubes in your ears, it burns like Hell going down your throat. When you don’t have the tubes, it burns mildly in the ear. This is a signal that the infection is going away.
Anyway, it only removed four days of eating and 2 weeks of doing anything. I slept for the majority of the 2 weeks.
